Setting the scene for NTS.

Digital Campaign


The National Theatre of Scotland tasked us with energising their brand and digital presence for the 2024 season and beyond. As our national theatre company, NTS make extraordinary, relevant theatre by, with and for contemporary Scotland.

Having shared their strategic vision for the next three years, the organisation was keen to revisit their brand identity in order to better reflect their inventive, collaborative and ambitious approach.

While we agreed that the iconic NTS logo should be retained at the core of the brand identity, we recognised the need to bring some life to the website, social applications and season launch trailers.

Inspired by the NTS’s strapline, Theatre without Walls, we created a bold dynamic type treatment that “breaks out” and flexes across applications to create a tangible sense of dynamism, excitement and anticipation.

The NTS brand team felt that the pared back, monochrome palette which had served them so well was in need of a refresh, and by introducing a bold splash of citrine to the palette, we brought a more contemporary feel to the website and launch material.

We also created a set of assets and guidelines that empowered the NTS team to apply our brand thinking to internal documents, show posters and other promotional material.
