Donald Soutar
- Designer
Donald has been a graphic designer with Touch for over 10 years, joining the team soon after graduating from ECA. In that time he has developed an in-depth understanding of branding, with a keen eye for consistency and detail in typography and language. If not working in the studio, Donald is likely to be found dealing directly with clients or art directing a photoshoot, probably his favourite part of the job.
Outside of work, he has gone back to ECA to set projects for 3rd year Graphic Design students and has designed a number of album covers, which is neat as they're what inspired him to become a graphic designer in the first place.

Chris Logan
- Designer
Chris has gained a number of years experience working at Touch, with a genuine enthusiasm for everything he does. He is at his best when working collaboratively with clients across numerous disciplines, taking an informed approach that is always creative and ideas-led, with a strong attention to detail and emphasis on craft.
Chris's passion for design also extends to other areas - as a contributor to highly-regarded design blog Formfiftyfive and more recently as an acting mentor to design students at his former design college.

Dougal Marwick
- Copywriter
Dougal moved to Edinburgh from the frozen north almost two decades ago to pursue his education (both the academic and real-life varieties). After a formative spell at a bigger agency he approached Touch, book in hand, and was kindly given the role of copywriter.
It sounds terribly clichéd - which is rich coming from a wordsmith - but he genuinely enjoys working closely with his colleagues in the studio to ensure that the content is every bit as engaging as the design. While new and exciting things interest him greatly, Dougal is equally at home in the library or the dusty basement of a charity shop.

Alistair Lane
- Digital Designer
Ali joined us in January 2011. As our lead digital designer, Ali's passion is online, and in building a beautiful web - drawing inspiration from both offline and online media.
Ali's focus is on ensuring that we constantly exceed expectations, building innovative yet highly functional interfaces for our clients. In this, his first year working with us, he has already demonstrated a genuine ability to approach each new design brief with a focus on both aesthetics and interaction.

Gill McColl
- Designer
Having worked in publishing and book design for a number of years in both Edinburgh and London, our latest recruit has a talent for typography, letterpress and screenprinting, making her a real asset to the Touch team. Gill was not only a finalist for the Marketing Society Creative Star Student of Year 2011 but she also won a YCN Commendation award for Ted Baker 2011.
She also runs Take the Proverbial: a series of typographic proverbs for a modern world. When not slaving over a silkscreen she likes travelling – having gone all the way to Arctic in search of polar bears!
